In one of my classes, we are talking about visual presentations. We spoke of how some people find success by making certain accessories or colors a permanent part of their visual presentation. Although I had never thought of this, this past season I basically wore oxblood, black and white every other day. Who didn’t, am i right? But anyhow, it was 61 degrees f. in Chicago this past week, so here is my last ode to winter’s color oxblood!

Is it Spring yet ?

Is it Spring yet ?

This past week Chicago has seen bitter winds, hail, below zero temperatures, black ice and I am sitting here wishing I could rock bare legs and pastels. Dream big!

Throwback Thursday

Last quarter I chose to take a class on web design and for my final project I had to build my own website, from scratch. I chose to make a page for an online boutique, shop MiniPop. These photos were taken for the “lookbook”. My friend/co-worker Neeks was kind enough to be the model and we had tons of fun shooting different outfits. Also, the location just so happened to be what’s left of the old Edgewater Resort Beach Hotel from the 1920’s that has been converted into apartments. Getting a glimpse of the Golden Age was so amazingly glamorous.

It is the first day of a new year, 2013 and yet 2012 already feels ages ago. A year ago to this date things were not so well but then halfway through the year my life improved immensely. Amongst the best positives of 2012 were a new job, new friends, a place on Lake Shore Drive and travel. For two weeks in December I was able to explore Morocco, which was incredible. The colors, the hospitality, the landscapes, the arts, everything was just so surreal. It was a rough trip because we kept moving around from city to city, and I did lose my favorite pair of pants somewhere in Morocco but… I got to see a shooting star, ride a camel, sleep in the middle of a desert, hang out with artsy Moroccans, substitute a taxi with a horse carriage, learn Moroccan Arabic, bargain in the medinas, and I would do it all over again If I could. I did also get to visit Paris and Madrid but more on that later.
